Planning

The application for an Aldi supermarket on Portsmouth Road (the old Guy Salmon site) in Thames Ditton was approved by the Planning Committee in March; An application to develop Bransby Lodge in St Leonards Road, Thames Ditton (ref 2025/2218) was withdrawn in January and has been replaced by a new application (ref 2026/0758); Housing development on the site of Hill Park Roses, Woodstock Lane South, Long Ditton. The application was refused by the Planning Committee in March. No appeal has yet been received by the EBC Planning Department; Mill Road Depot: Elmbridge BC has withdrawn the current planning application for the Mill Road Depot (ref 2025/3216) due to the large number of concerns raised by local residents. These views will be fully considered as part of a revised planning application, which we expect to be submitted in the coming weeks. A drop-in session will be arranged for residents to ask questions directly to the project team.

Ashley Road Car Park, Thames Ditton

We are delighted to confirm that EV charging points are now installed, and we are assured that they will be operational very soon. We would also like to remind residents that the first 30 minutes of parking in the car park is now FREE! This is an initiative from Elmbridge Borough Council to encourage us to shop local and support our High Street.

Christmas Lights in Thames Ditton High Street

Surrey County Council will shortly be installing commando sockets on the lampposts in the High Street so that Thames Ditton can be included in the Elmbridge Christmas Lights contract from 2026 until 2029.

Thames Ditton station Bike Shelter

Elmbridge Borough Council has agreed to fund a new roof for the bike shelter as part of a cycle infrastructure initiative. We hope this will be installed in the next couple of months.
