I agree and we plan to do so. To be honest we'd like to regularly update the images on all the pages as often as possible but as with everything it all takes time. I think naturally some retailers have stronger images then others and the objective is to get them all to a a certain 'standard'. But as the work with the website is voluntary, the paid day job has to come first! :-)
The plan is once The Stitchery and others have their Christmas/new seasonal lines in we will update the images. So yes the images will be changed, ongoing. The site is dynamic and will be managed proactively so there will always be new things to read and look at to keep people coming back and using it. The Facebook page is already gaining popularity with posts from local businesses (dance classes/guinness cake at the LT) etc, which is great. Thanks for your support Juninho - I'm sure the retailers will appreciate it.

It might be of interest to the Retailers' Association to get extra funding for the website and other initiatives?

Ashley Car Park walkway to high street - now open finally!!

This is an excellent plus/opportunity to the high street shops and residents, in fact why park in the high street at all!

The prices are reasonable too (as this the high street website page, it could be an added opportunity to have maybe a refund policy for the coffee shops/restaurants for people spending over £5 in the shops

Obviously this car-park doesn't cater for the all-day commuter at the moment, there is a further opportunity for a pathway in the future through the dentist garden also - a deal needs to be struck between them and LA / RA sometime, hopefully next year!

also a be careful, a funeral car was ticketed there yesterday, correctly parked and paid up, car park was empty, the crime, it was too long for the parking space, absurd.

I wonder how much it costs them to send the person round to place the ticket, and then deal with all the admin. More than the ticket I imagine.

There's nothing absurd here, I presume you don't want lorries and other long-wheel based vehicles in there at any time

It's absurd, that residents and especially the local shop / office workers don't use it, every space that they take up on the high street is one last less customer. Surely can't the residents association can't the RA grant the business owners free parking in the car park if it so cheap.

There also has to be a loading bays I feel outside the chemist and post office to cater for their deliveries, it's not right that they park on the peanut and block everyone's passage out. Any with a 4x4 who does, I pity with you for having small brain cells.

OMG - apart from the slight off field derogatory last sentence and the bit about parking on a peanut ..... I actually find myself agreeing with Bluesky's comments about office workers and the shop keepers parking off the high street to free up for shoppers! There should be a number of short stay 'free' parking bays along the High Street to help this and yes there should be two one hour loading bays - one outside Paulls/Secret Garden and potentially the Chemist.

BS, absurd that no common sense prevails and that a long car gets ticketed when they have paid to park. Actually, come to think of it, why couldn't a section be for longer vehicles, now the path is open they could deliver to shops either early morning or by trolley from the car park.

Craig - not a bad idea, For unloading but I would not want to see lorries parked overnight.

I still think more yellow lines are required to Make people use the car park. I don't know what you think also, the pavements are very narrow and could be widened in places. Just a couple of thoughts for next year.

yup I mean daytime for unloading only, not for stopovers.

And how how about more yellow lines?

I actually spoke to surrey cc recently and the guy told me two things, that yellow lines need to go through their process including a local community questionnaire

And also that they will be reducing the number of bumps of the village, as it's unsafe to have both on street parking on station road and bumps

personally not a fan of them, parking in the village is hard enough and the carpark doesn't work for me.

I see you live on the island, so where do you park?
