Title: Surrey Tories vote themselves big pay rise
Post by: Admin on May 08, 2014, 01:37:03 PM
See http://residents-association.com/news.php#tory_allowances

As if the performance of Surrey's council, overwhelmingly dominated by complacent Conservative politicos, has been outstanding!

Your money is in their hands.  Are you happy?

Disgraceful!! At a time when massive cuts made by the same people are impacting on the well being of the elderly, disabled people and children.

Thanks for the link, Deborah.  Scandalous indeed.  It's not as if they have done a noticeably good job in any sphere.

It is disgraceful.  When foodbanks are providing food for people in Surrey who cannot afford to eat, massive cuts in arts education, the appalling state of the surrey roads, blocked drains causing flooding even after light rain, and the government's apparent inability to compel train operators to provide a decent service.

It does seem as if the tory goal is the creation of individual wealth - fail to understand why Surrey residents vote for them time and time again ?

If you want to get this debated again at the council and to embarrass Cllr Hodge and his friends, sign this petition: http://petitions.surreycc.gov.uk/moneygrab/

For what it's worth all Elmbridge County Councillors apart from Margaret Hicks (Hersham, C) either voted against or abstained.

There are a lot of local Conservatives who are just as angry about this as you are.
