I've just had a mail through from the Hampton Court Rescue Campaign concerning the developers renewing their expired plans to partly demolish the existing station at Hampton Court.

The application is 2012/4275. Closing date is the 17th January.

I don't think I've ever seen so many objections!

Thanks for posting the link to the video outlining the views against the proposal to demolish part of Hampton Court Railway Station.  The person who made the video has voiced their views so well and has also explained how to object to the proposal very clearly.  I was so pleased to follow his instructions and object so easily.

I think it would be useful to have someone who has the skill to make a good video.  There have been quite a lot of serious campaigns for example keeping the TD Hall and the Centre for the senior citizens in Thames Ditton, and trying to get the Surrey NHS to take local care in intermediate beds seriously.  There have been big planning issues in the past and ther will be more in the future.  So  is someone going to step forward to do this when needed, and who?.

"In response to public queries, we can confirm that Hampton Court Station will stay operational throughout
the period of works with safe passenger access and ticketing".

But.....Gladedale's Planning Potential Environmental Statement: 2008 says

throughout the works, this may not be possible during some piling works.

Gladedale's apparently contradictory utterances shows that what Gladedale say at any point in time "ain't necessarily so".

They were two people handing out flyers encouraging people to object to the planning on the Jolly Boatman and Hampton Court station.

One of the arguments for objecting was that it said the station would be closed and that we would suffer a knock on effect in TD (parking, etc).

Apologies I meant to keep the flyer so I could post up its contents but I seem to have recycled it with my paper.

A great night for commonsense and a bad night for Gladedale. The condition to demolish the canopies was rejected as was the Travel plan which clarifies how traffic will enter and leave the site. They will appeal but there are no guarantees and the appeal process will slow them done by 8-12 weeks at the very least.
