boundarycommission

UPDATE
The Boundary Commission will now publish its final recommendations on the new ward and boundary configuration for Elmbridge on 5th January 2016.  The delay from its scheduled date of 1st December is due to the large number of submissions, backed up with strong evidence, across Elmbridge.  The aim though is still to bring the new warding system into effect for the 2016 Elmbridge Borough elections.  For this, all councillor seats will be involved, reverting in subsequent years to the one-third per year system.

The Boundary Commission conducted the first stages of its review earlier in the year, and published its suggested new ward and boundary configuration for Elmbridge on its website on 30th June 2015 (http://www.lgbce.org.uk/current-reviews/south-east/surrey/elmbridge).  That proposed 16  three-councillor wards (ie. a reduction in councillors from 60 to 48).  To see how Weston Green and Thames Ditton would be affected, please refer to the articles on the 'Latest News' page.  The draft recommendations were put out to consultation and the public invited to submit their views up to 24th August.
