The sun shone through the cloud (finally) to allow the good people of Weston Green, Thames Ditton and beyond to come out in their hundreds on Sunday 21st June (Fathers’ Day) to take part in the ‘Secret Gardens of Weston Green’.
Eleven local gardening families bravely bared their horticultural all and were overwhelmingly rewarded with praise and admiring comments for their months of preparation (and weeding!).
All Saints’ Church revived their famous Easter garden and had the archives on display, depicting life locally over recent decades to the fascination of many. Anstice Wadia and her ‘Tea Team’ were kept very busy adding to visitors’ waistlines.
As well as being a joyful all-age occasion, the afternoon raised around £2000 for Weston Green conservation projects.
