Thames Ditton Centre for the Community

Several local residents have asked us what is the RA's position regarding local rumours that the Thames Ditton Centre is under threat of closure.

We are in the fortunate position of having four local Councillors on Elmbridge Borough Council and they have confirmed that there are no plans to close the centre. However the RA appreciates that the way the centre is currently managed is not putting it to its best use, and we support efforts to find a better solution.

The Council has advised us that it intends to carry out a community consultation to find if there are more effective ways of managing the centre. The first step in this process is a 'by-invitation' workshop on 17th April at which the RA will be represented. As always, we will aim to support the interests of local residents.
