Our Councillors became aware of a traveller incursion in Longmead Road at midday Friday 22nd May. Officers and police were informed immediately (within an hour of the traveller's arrival) and are now dealing with the matter.

Elmbridge Borough Council have released the following update:
'Following an unauthorised gypsy-traveller encampment on longmead Road on Friday 22 May, the Council’s gypsy/traveller Liaison Officer has visited  the site and undertaken the welfare assessment.  Subsequently we have also served them with a Notice of direction to leave by 10am on Saturday 23 May. If they do not leave by this time then we will seek a removal order from the Magistrates court at the earliest opportunity next week.'
