Just to congratulate all those volunteers who finally made the farmers' Market a reality yesterday. Well done. The George car park was the perfect venue and it was a pleasure to see so many people milling about the stalls. Everyone I spoke to liked the market and apart from fairs I haven't seen so many people walking along the High St. If only one in ten buy anything at the regular shops that will be a bonus for the latter.
Prices were on the high side (fresh tuna even more expensive than at Waitrose) but quality was also high and it was good to be able to browse samples on most stalls. Terrific sausages!
Still buying our veg at Paulls though.
