I think we all know that "traffic calming" has by no means proved to be a "silver bullet" - white vans and SUVs speed up to take speed humps (e.g. Station Road) while the humps just wreck the tyres ans suspension on family cars - big unnecessary bills for those unlucky enough not to have a company vehicle. Speed humps also add to air and noise pollution, and can have a detrimental effect on the structural stability on the houses by the humps. So it's not clear-cut.

Ewell Road may officially be in Long Ditton however it turns into Thorkhill Road which is Thames Ditton. More importantly I am sure many TD residents have or know of children who play football on the playing field which Ewell Road runs along.
