There are two litter-picking groups active in Thames Ditton and Weston Green, making a huge difference to the cleanliness of our pavements and green spaces. We meet once a month, on a Saturday morning, for just an hour's litter picking, and are happy to welcome new members - of all ages. Come as often or as little as you wish - email reminders are sent out before each session. We provide the necessary equipment - litter-pick sticks, gloves, refuse sacks with mounting hoops, and hi-viz vests.

Many of our monthly litter pickers, and indeed other residents, also pick up litter at separate times as the need arises, disposing of the collected rubbish in their own bins. If litter is spoiling your neighbourhood, why not organise your own local WhatsApp litter-picking group. Remember though, if you find a substantial pile of fly-tipped rubbish, you can report it online and the council will remove it. We meet every third Saturday of the month at Thames Ditton Lawn Tennis Club, Weston Green Road, KT7 0HX.  Volunteers arrive from 10.45am for an 11am start.  Find us in the car park to collect your hi-viz vest, litter-picking stick and rubbish sack when you will be given a route to litter pick.  We finish by 12 noon at the Tennis Club and the rubbish sacks are collected shortly afterwards by Elmbridge Borough Council at the entrance to the Dell, nearby on Weston Green Road.  Cafe Noir is open for refreshments in the Clubhouse, before and after the litter pick.

The Weston Greenies meet on the first Saturday of the month in the car park by Marney's Village Inn, Alma Road, KT10 8JN.  We litter-pick from 10.30am, but it's helpful if volunteers arrive a little before that to collect their equipment and be assigned a route/area to pick.  Many of the areas are in the commons, but we also cover pavements along the main roads.  We aim to finish by 11.30am to have the sacks etc stacked for collection by the Council.  Besides the typical litter, our pickers often find some more unusual items (see below).
