Title: One way for Giggs Hill Green

There seems to be a lot more cars parked on Giggs Hill Green, at Wimbledon common now they park on the curb.

conversely, has anyone though about making Giggs Hill one way??

Craig - this is a village forum, I can have my views - thank you.    I suggest you start an island forum, as you seemed to be detached from reality.

On the contrary, I care about and focus on the village a lot which you will see if you have a look back through my history. I'm not sure I have mentioned the Island more than a couple of times, unlike you who mentions it in almost any response you make to my posts.

I also drive both ways across Giggs Hill Green daily and in a variety of vehicles of all shapes and sizes so feel I am perfectly able to respond to the effect that I never encounter any problems which would give rise to considering the need for a one way system. This is Thames Ditton, not Milton Keynes.

You should have a chat with Bluesky, you'd have a lot to talk about.

I suggested Wimbledon Village.....North of the river, I don't really know!

I am just suggesting there seems to be a lot more cars parked there and some controls should be considered.

This was briefly considered and swiftly rejected during the consultations in around 2006, as was the rather more serious proposal to have a one-way system in the High Street - or indeed to pedestrianise the latter.

Speeding up the passage of cars usually leads to more cars using a route, offsetting any gains.  Equally, restricting parking leads to a displacement of the problem, rather than its resolution.
