Elmbridge Independent Retailer of the Year Awards

This July the Elmbridge Independent Retailer of the Year Awards are back for a ninth successive year, giving shoppers the chance to vote for their favourite retailer, café, restaurant, salon or special independent who has gone above and beyond in recent times.

These past twelve months our high streets and independent traders have shown once again why they are so valued in the community. When we needed a top up, a gift or a tasty treat to help us through this difficult time they answered the call.

Residents can once again vote online in July for their favourite across 7 categories as we seek to champion and promote our great local independents who have consistently delivered a quality offer and exceptional service.

Categories include:

• Best independent retailer

• Best restaurant or café

• Best for hair and/or beauty

• Best for fashion

• Best deli or grocer

• Best for speciality products

• Green business of the year

Councillor Bruce McDonald, Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Community Development said; “Our retail awards are a chance to say ‘thank you’ to our independent retailers who have been such a vital part of our communities over the past 12 months. The awards form part of our wider programme of support for the high streets through our Enterprise Elmbridge programme."

Last year, Thames Ditton retailers won in two of the above categories - Best deli or grocer (Paulls Fruit & Veg) and Green business of the year (Cyclelink).
