Subject: The Green Belt - Thames Ditton & Weston Green Residents' Association
Dear Mr Raab,
I am writing to seek your reassurance that you will continue to support the same level of protection for the Green Belt as was included in the 2015 Conservative Party manifesto as, and when, the 2017 manifesto is drawn up. Pages 52 and 54 of the 2015 manifesto state, “ We will protect the Green Belt” and “We will protect your countryside, Green Belt and urban environment”. Elsewhere, ministers have declared the Green Belt to be “sacrosanct”. As you know, in Elmbridge, we face enormous pressures to develop land in the Green Belt as a result of Government housing policies.
Our response to the recent Elmbridge Strategic Options Consultation can be found at http://residents-association.com/news/latestnews/422-planning-consultation-ra-s-submission
We are grateful for the support you have shown since becoming our MP and trust that you will feed in the views of our local community into the drawing up of the manifesto.Your sincerely,
Graham Cooke
Chairman
Thames Ditton & Weston Green Residents' Association
